Services
Airbrush Art School is a dedicated art school for teaching the art of airbrush across all mediums. Our courses range from the complete novice to the more advanced artist looking to hone their skills in specific areas.

We have a fully equipped studio with 8 workstations and all the supplies we need to cater to our airbrush courses. The studio has a very relaxed atmosphere based in the rural village of Headley, between Basingstoke & Newbury with plenty of parking and local B&B’s nearby. (click here for travel details)

2 Day Airbrush Beginner Course (Mod 1)

The Airbrush Art School 2 Day Beginner Airbrush Lesson (Modular 1) is designed to take the beginner from complete novice to someone that can control the airbrush and is able to create stunning 3D images using different mediums and techniques.

During the day you will use various airbrushes from the leading brands in the market. You will also understand the benefits of each of airbrush type and where and when you should use them.

We will go through all the tools you need to produce full detailed projects and how to maintain your airbrush, so you can troubleshoot any issues you have.

Course Content

Types of airbrushes/spray guns, compressors, and paints used by the professionals

Airbrush care and tools needed to maintain your airbrush equipment

Ideal setup for beginners

Airbrush control practice routines – Dots, Lines, Distancing, Blends, Dagger Strokes

Mapping out your project using different mediums including freehand and stencil work

Examples of different textures and what we use to achieve different effects

A brief discussion on surface preparation then the final artwork project

Day 2 – Complete final project

It’s a high-quality lesson in a relaxed atmosphere in Dave’s Home studio in Headley, Newbury Road, Hampshire

Lesson Start – 9am to 5pm

You will not need to bring anything with you as all equipment is provided. Refreshments will be provided during the day, but please bring a light lunch with you or you can use the local store that’s just a few minutes away.

We have all the tools on sale that you use throughout the day, so you will be ready to put into practice what you have mastered in the class when you get home!

5 Day Beginner Course + Introduction To Wildlife & Portraits

We have put together this 5-day intense airbrush course to take the complete novice artist to an advanced level. Starting with the foundation techniques and as we progress through the week we slowly introduce more difficult techniques and extra tools required to achieve amazing art. The course covers the standard beginner class, but we introduce textures, monochrome portrait, and wildlife all within the five days. Each student will leave with 4-5 full projects they can be proud of and a complete understanding of all the techniques we use to create our award-winning art here at the Airbrush Art School.

Lesson Content:

Airbrush care and tools needed to maintain your airbrush equipment

The ideal setup for beginners

Textures and what we use to achieve different effects – Wood, Clouds, Metals, Flames, Lightning, Stone/Rock/Slate, Flowing Materials, Water

Monochrome Portraits – Includes erasing techniques, understanding soft and hard edges, tonal values, how to use transparent paint.

Wildlife piece – Includes, rendering of realistic hair, background work.

A brief discussion on surface preparation

Introduction To Motosport Helmet Painting

Course Dates 4th - 6th September 2019

Airbrush Art School working in conjunction with H2O-Customs have carefully put together this introduction to Motorsport helmet painting course. The key objective of the course is to provide a complete walkthrough of painting a motorsport helmet to completed artwork stage and give a clear understanding of how we approach the design and what tools and materials we use. By the end of day 3, the student should obtain the knowledge to be able to paint any complex motorsport helmet design with confidence.

There will be a preset design to work to so we ensure you gain all the right skills moving forward. You will be able to add your own spin on the design by adding numbers, names, and colours of your choice.

During the checkout process, you will have two options 1. Paint a replica helmet (see images) 2. Paint an Adult or Youth Snell 2015 approved motorsport helmet. (See helmet specs at the bottom of this page)

If you are painting for someone please select the correct model and size option from in the list, as once ordered we will not be able to change the size.

The helmets that you paint during the course will be yours to take home, or you can leave them with us to be lacquered and polished to a showroom finish at a low cost of £30+delivery back if required

Create a helmet mask via computer-aided design package

Transferring the mask to the helmet
