Airbrush Art School working in conjunction with H2O-Customs have carefully put together this introduction to Motorsport helmet painting course. The key objective of the course is to provide a complete walkthrough of painting a motorsport helmet to completed artwork stage and give a clear understanding of how we approach the design and what tools and materials we use. By the end of day 3, the student should obtain the knowledge to be able to paint any complex motorsport helmet design with confidence.
There will be a preset design to work to so we ensure you gain all the right skills moving forward. You will be able to add your own spin on the design by adding numbers, names, and colours of your choice.
During the checkout process, you will have two options 1. Paint a replica helmet (see images) 2. Paint an Adult or Youth Snell 2015 approved motorsport helmet. (See helmet specs at the bottom of this page)
If you are painting for someone please select the correct model and size option from in the list, as once ordered we will not be able to change the size.
The helmets that you paint during the course will be yours to take home, or you can leave them with us to be lacquered and polished to a showroom finish at a low cost of £30+delivery back if required

Learn how to strip and prepare a helmet for paint
Learn how to map out your design using a helmet Jig
Create a helmet mask via computer-aided design package
Transferring the mask to the helmet
what paints to use and why we use them
How to troubleshoot paint issue
Painting techniques
Airbrush techniques to add the extra details and characters
discussion on how to clear-coat and finish your helmet and lots more

It's a high-quality lesson in a relaxed atmosphere in Dave’s Home studio in Headley, Newbury Road, Hampshire.
Lesson start time 9am to 5pm
You will not need to bring anything with you as all equipment is provided.
Refreshments will be provided during the day, but please bring a light lunch with you or you can use the local store that’s just a few minutes away.
We have all the tools on sale that you use throughout the day, so you will be ready to put into practice what you have mastered in the class when you get home!
